 Chris Hoiles is a former professional baseball player in the MLB and became active from the late 1980s to the late 1990s. Hoiles, who was born in Wayne, Ohio, was a catcher in the MLB and played solely for the Baltimore Orioles. However, he was really drafted by the Detroit Tigers during the 1986 amateur draft. However, he was traded to Baltimore during the 1988 season and was able to break into the team a season after. In the entire history of the Baltimore Orioles, Hoiles is listed as the ninth best player.

 

Throughout his entire appearance in the MLB, Hoiles is remembered for making two grand slams in one single game. This event happened on August 14, 1998. Hoiles was already able to accomplish an ultimate grand slam two seasons earlier against the Seattle Mariners.

 

Hoiles is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and served as its assistant coach for some time. In 2000, Hoiles was inducted in the Athletics Hall of Fame of the university and in the Baltimore Orioles Hall of Fame in 2006. During the same year, Hoiles served as the manager of the York Revolution and is currently the assistant coach of the Mason Dixon Ruffnecks.
