 Chris Raymond Gatling was known as “The Energizer” in National Basketball Association. Born on September 3, 1967, he is a retired American professional basketball player  who became part of NBA from 1991 to 2002. During the 1990 FIBA World Championship, he was part of the US National Team and helped in winning the bronze medal.  

According to sources, he was drafted to the National Basketball Association in 1991, where he became 16th overall out of Old Dominion University. He was picked for the team Golden State Warriors and spent four years with this team. In the first few years of his career, he had an average of 13.7 points and 7.6 rebounds per final game.  

 

In 1994-1995 season, he was the leading NBA player in terms of field goal percentage with 0.633, one of the ten highest in NBA history. 

 

Halfway through the 1995-1996 season, he and Tim Hardaway was traded to Miami Heat. He also played for New Jersey Nets and Dallas Mavericks for the 1996-1997 season. Gatling also played for Milwaukee Bucks , Denver Nuggets, Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers. Famous for his use of headband, he considers the practice as a reminder that he survived a serious head injury as a teenager. Gatling then moved to Russia and played for CSKA Moscow.

Over 11 seasons, he played 700 games, scored 7232 points (10.3 ppg) and grabbed 3741 rebounds (5.3 rpg). Gatling also dished out 461 assists (0.7 apg), made 464 steals (0.7 spg), and blocked 375 shots (0.5 bpg) during his career. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey on September 3, 1967, Gatling stands 6-10 and weighs 220 lbs. He attended high school at Elizabeth in Elizabeth, New Jersey and college at Old Dominion University. He was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the 1st round (16th pick, 16th overall) of the 1991 NBA draft.
