About Chris Clark Memorabilia & Collectibles
Chris Clark is presently playing for the
Columbus Blue Jackets as the hockey team’s right winger. A native of South Windsor, Connecticut, Chris Clark was born on March 8, 1976 and was drafted at the young age of 18. He played impressively for four years for Clarkson University’s Golden Knights that by 1994 he got drafted into the
Calgary Flames. He played with such team until 2004, his last year in which he played every single game and helped his group reach the Stanley Cup Finals.
By august of 2005, Clark went to the
Washington Capitals in exchange for a conditional pick in the following year’s Entry Draft. By 2006 he was made part of the Capital’s top line and everything went up from there. He was made Captain of the team by September that year and scored career highs in points, goals and assists. Internationally, Clark also played for Swiss and Norwegian teams between 2004 and 2005, and in the 2007 World Championships he was made captain of the USA hockey team.
On November 28, 2007 tragedy struck when Clark suffered an injury in a game against the
Florida Panthers. This caused him to miss eighteen straight games. When he returned in February of 2008, he was able to play against the Philadelphia Flyers but his time in the game was cut short when he aggravated his injury trying to stop a pass. This caused him to miss the rest of the regular season and the playoffs.
In February of 2009, Clark suffered another injury which required surgery, making him miss the rest of the 2008- 09 regular season. He came back and skated with his team before game 5 of the 2009 Stanley Cup playoff game but was gone again and reappeared only in game 7 to replace then-teammate Donald Brashear. Clark became one of the longest tenured captains in the history of the Washington Capitals.
On December 28, 2009 Clark was traded again, and this time for winger Jason Chimera of the Columbus Blue Jackets. Since then up until the present, he still plays for the Jackets.
