Records show us that Chase was born in Pasadena, California. He was as many friends say the best at baseball ever since he was a kid. His parents say that he would spend countless number of hours on the field practicing and playing with boys his age, just to perfect the swing. While he was in high school his friends and he joined and played for the Long Beach Poly High School team, it was after that stint that he got an offer to play and study for UCLA as a scholarship. Sources say that in the year 2000 he made his debut to the national platform and won the first recognition of being the “Outstanding Player” for the NCAA region.

 

This was when the Chase Utley Plaque was out in the market with fans making a beeline for it. Many records say that after he won the outstanding player award, he was asked to be in the first round with the famous Philadelphia Phillies as an amateur minor. Sources say that it was his grit and determination and a mix of never give up attitude that showed his prowess against the Batavia Muck dogs in the year 2000, then again in the year 2001 with the Clearwater Phillies and finally taking on the Scranton’s in 2002 and 03’.
