Chase Headley is a baseball player in the MLB. He is currently the third baseman for the San Diego Padres and is a switch-hitter. Headley used to play as a left fielder as well. Born in Fountain, Colorado, Headley went to Fountain-Fort Carson High School, and was an excellent baseball and basketball player. While playing baseball for his high school team, Headley was named into the South Metro All-League team for four consecutive seasons. On top of all those accomplishments, Headley graduated valedictorian.
He proceeded to enter the University of the Pacific in California and then to the University of Tennessee. Headley was named as an Academic All-American before being drafted by the San Diego Padres during the 2005 First-Year Player Draft.
Headley was assigned to play in the minors before he was able to appear in the Padres roster in the MLB in 2007. He first played for the Eugene Emeralds before going on to play for the Lake Elsinore Storm where he was dubbed as one of the best Padres prospects. Headley was named as the Texas League Player of the Year in 2007.
After Kevin Kouzmanoff’s 2007 injury, Headley was called up to as a replacement during a game against the Chicago Cubs.
