Charles Woodson is an American professional football athlete who is currently playing as cornerback for the Green Bay Packers. He was born in Fremont, Ohio and took his college education attending the University of Michigan. Woodson also played college football at University of Michigan where, during his freshman years, Woodson immediately became a quarterback starter after their second game. Also, during his rookie season, Woodson played in thirty four straight games.
Woodson’s pro football career began after he was drafted by the Oakland Raiders during the first round of the 1998 NFL Draft. During the 2000 season, Woodson started all his sixteen games; however, he suffered a turf toe injury preventing him from practicing. Woodson finished that year with a career high of seventy nine tackles with four pass interception. In the 2004 season, Woodson suffered another injury putting him inactive in the last three weeks of the season, but was lucky enough to finish that season having played for thirteen games during the early part of the season.
Woodson played for eight seasons for the Raiders before joining the Green Bay Packers in 2006. Ever since Woodson turned pro, he had garnered numerous career highlights such as 1998 NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year, being a six time Pro Bowl selection, three-time First Team All-Pro selection, two-time Second Team All-Pro selection and 2009 NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
