Cesar David Izturis was born on February 10, 1980 in Barquisimeto, Venezuela. He is a professional baseball player who is currently part of the Baltimore Orioles. His half-brother, Maicer Izturis, is also a Major League Baseball player for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
Cesar Izturis was a free agent when he was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays in 1996. He spent some seasons in the minors and attended a few training camps before he made his Major League Baseball debut on June 23, 2001 for the Blue Jays. According to reviews, he possesses great defensive skills which made a lot of MLB teams want him. At the end of the 2001 season, he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers and was assigned as a starting shortstop.
