Cecil Travis (full name: Cecil Howell Travis; no nicknames) played shortstop, third baseman and rightfielder from 1933 until 1947 for the Washington Senators. He played for the Senators from 1933 - 1947. Over 12 seasons, he played 1328 games, hit 27 home runs, drove in 665 runs, and stole 23 bases. Born on August 8, 1913 in Riverdale, GA, Travis stood 6' 1" and weighed 185 lb. He attended Riverdale (Riverdale, GA) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on May 16, 1933 and he played his final game on September 23, 1947. Common misspellings of his name include Cecil Cecil Howell Travis.
