Born on June 2, 1972 in Eugene, Oregon, Casey Martin is an American professional golfer. Martin became a member of the University’s NCAA-champion 1994 team.
He studied at the Stanford University where he became a teammate of Tiger Woods. He actually suffers from a birth defect in his right leg which is called Klippel Trenaunay Weber syndrome. But then Martin was able to sue the PGA Tour in 2001 for the appropriate use of a golf cart during the competition under the Americans with Disabilities Act. It was in 1998 when he won a NIKE tour event during the Lakeland Open in a playoff. It was also in the same year when he reached a career highlight by accomplishing tied for 23rd at the U.S. Open. It was on 1999 when Martin had a secured spot on the PGA Tour where accomplished 14th on the NIKE Tour money list.
Martin had kept full status on the NIKE Tour up to 2003 but then unfortunately, he failed to make the Q-School finals in 2003. However in 2004, Martin was able to advance from the first round to the second of the three rounds. He had also played five Nationwide Tour events in 2006. Martin was hailed as the head coach of the University of Oregon’s men’s golf team in May 2006 after he worked as a volunteer assistant in the 2006 season.
