 Casey Hampton, Jr. is a National Football League player who was born on September 3, 1977 in Galveston, Texas. He finished high school in Ball High School in Texas where he became an outstanding football player. He was a two-time District’s Defensive Player of the Year and was included in the All-State first team of the Class 5A. He played with jersey number 63 which was retires on April 6, 2009 at a parade and dinner. According to sources, he was the only player who received such recognition in the school’s history.

 

He played college football at University of Texas and recorded an 11th highest tackles in the university with 329. The Football Writers Association and The Sporting News named him as an All-American first team awardee as well as the Walter Camp and The Sports Exchange. He was also included in the All-Big 12 Conference first team.

 

His professional football career started in 2001 when he was picked by the Pittsburgh Steelers as a 19th overall selection in the NFL Draft. He abruptly became a tough player and part of the Steelers’ defense. In 2003, he joined the Pro Bowl Series. However, he missed most of the 2004 season after an injury to his ACL in the right knee. He played 129 games in his entire career.
