 Born on October 17, 1985 in Maracaibo, Venezuela, Carlos Eduardo Gonzalez is a professional baseball player who plays for Major Baseball League. Nicknamed “Cargo”, he was originally part of Arizona Diamondbacks and began playing professionally for Missoula Osprey, a team from the Rookie League. In 2004, he played for Low-Single-A Yakima Bears. That year also, he played 8 games for Single-A South Bend Silver Hawks and made a batting average of .275. Other minor league teams he played for include Silver Hawks, High Single-A Lancaster JetHawks, Tenessee Smokies, Double-A MobileBears, Tucson Sidewinders, among others.

After spending some seasons with the Athletics, he was then traded to Colorado Rockies where he was recognized as a strong player.
