Carl Sawatski (full name: Carl Ernest Sawatski; Swats, Swisher, Swish) played catcher from 1948 until 1963 for the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Milwaukee Braves, Philadelphia Phillies and St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Cubs from 1948 - 1953, White Sox in 1954, Braves from 1957 - 1958, Phillies from 1958 - 1959 and Cardinals from 1960 - 1963. Over 11 seasons, he played 633 games, hit 58 home runs, drove in 133 runs, and stole 2 bases. Born on November 4, 1927 in Shickshinny, PA, Sawatski stood 5' 10" and weighed 210 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 29, 1948 and he played his final game on September 29, 1963.
