Carey John Wilson born May 19, 1962 in Winnipeg, Manitoba was a Canadian former professional ice hockey who played in the National Hockey League for 10 seasons. Wilson is a rarity in that he played in the Canadian Hockey League, NCAA, Division 1 hockey which took place in Europe, and the Canadian National Team all before playing his first game in the NHL.
He was drafted sixty-seventh overall by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 1980 NHL Entry Draft. Wilson was a member of the first Canadian World Junior Hockey team to win a gold medal. He would make an impact right away. The following season he would score seventy-two points as a rookie. Wilson was a solid contributor for the Flames before he was traded to the Hartford Whalers in the year 1987. After 6 months he was traded again to the New York Rangers. He played one more season with them, before being traded back to the Whalers. He received “Honoured Member” of the Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame.

Carey Wilson (full name: Carey Wilson; no nicknames) played center from 1984 until 1993 for the Calgary Flames, Hartford Whalers and New York Rangers. He played for the Flames from 1984 - 1993, Whalers from 1988 - 1991 and Rangers from 1989 - 1990. Over 10 seasons, he played 552 games, scored 169 goals, and made 258 assists. Born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on May 19, 1962, Wilson stands 6-2 and weighs 195 lbs. He was drafted by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 4th round (67th overall) of the 1980 NHL Entry Draft.
