Carey Price is a National Hockey League player who hails from Anahim Lake, British Columbia, Canada. He spent his junior hockey career at the Western Hockey League from the 2002 season where he played for the Tri-City Americans. He finished the 2004-2005 seasons with 2.34 goals against average and recorded .920 save percentage. His last year in the Western Hockey League was marked by the Del Wilson Trophy and the CHL Goaltender of the Year award.
After his stellar season in the Western Hockey League, he proceeded to play in the American Hockey League where he played for the Hamilton Bulldogs. He appeared for the Bulldogs’ stint in the 2007 Calder Cup Playoffs where he had his very first game in the professional hockey field on April 13, 2007. In his first game, he logged 27 stops out of 28 shots and was named as a first star for completing such accomplishment. The 2007 season proved to be a very great one for Price as he was named as the CHL Goaltender of the Year and the Jack A. Butterfield Trophy recipient in that season.
In the 2007-2008 season of the National Hockey League, he joined the Montreal Canadiens team and played versus the Pittsburgh Penguins. After finishing a successful season with the Canadiens, he was traded to the Washington Capitals. He was awarded as the NHL Rookie of the Month and a one-time First Star of the Week in the said league.
