About Calvin Murphy:
Calvin Murphy (full name: Calvin Jerome Murphy; Cal) played Guard from 1971 until 1983 for the San Diego Rockets and Houston Rockets. Over 13 seasons, he played 1002 games, scored 17949 points (17.9 ppg) and grabbed 2103 rebounds (2.1 rpg). Murphy also dished out 4402 assists (4.4 apg), made 1165 steals (1.2 spg), and blocked 51 shots (0.1 bpg) during his career. Born in Norwalk, Connecticut on May 9, 1948, Murphy stands 5-9 and weighs 165 lbs. He attended high school at Norwalk in Norwalk, Connecticut and college at Niagara University. He was drafted by the San Diego Rockets in the 2nd round (1st pick, 18th overall) of the 1970 NBA draft. He was inducted into Hall of Fame as Player in 1993.
