Butch Beard (full name: Alfred Beard Jr.; Butch) played Guard from 1970 until 1979 for the Atlanta Hawks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Seattle Supersonics, Golden State Warriors and New York Knickerbockers. Over 9 seasons, he played 605 games, scored 5622 points (9.3 ppg) and grabbed 2042 rebounds (3.4 rpg). Beard also dished out 2189 assists (3.6 apg), made 499 steals (0.8 spg), and blocked 36 shots (0.1 bpg) during his career. Born in Hardinsburg, Kentucky on May 4, 1947, Beard stands 6-3 and weighs 185 lbs. He attended high school at Breckenridge County in Hardinsburg, Kentucky and college at University of Louisville. He was drafted by the Atlanta Hawks in the 1st round (10th pick, 10th overall) of the 1969 NBA draft.
