 Gerald Posey is a professional baseball player who is currently part of the San Francisco Giants. He is more famously called as Buster Posey. He is a former high school baseball athlete at Lee County High School and showcased his baseball skills in the said high school. He was awarded the Player of the Year recognition by Gatorade because of his excellent performance in the team. He was also named as the Player of the Year in Louisville Slugger State. After his high school career, he went on to have a great college baseball experience at Florida State University. He played as a shortstop during his freshman season at the college. In his second season in the university, he served as a catcher and became a runner-up for the Johnny Bench Award.

 

After his celebrated college career, he was chosen to play in the Major League Baseball by the San Francisco Giants and signed with the team on August 15, 2008. He joined the spring training of the team in 2009 and then proceeded to play in the team’s minor league system. His first Major League Baseball appearance was on September 1, 2009. In 2010, he was traded to the Texas Rangers and played as a catcher.
