Born on February 17, 1934 in a small town in the city of Oklahoma, a retired American NFL football coach, James David "Buddy" Ryan is the father of Rex Ryan and Rob Ryan twins that also became engaged in football and eventually became known for managing team in NFL following their father’s footsteps and continuing its legacy.
During his early years he played in for Oklahoma A&M University now known as Oklahoma State but eventually he discovered his gift himself in coaching teams instead, so he started as an assistant coach in Gainesville High School in Gainesville, Texas. When he finished high school he served years for the military and afterwards became an assistant football coach for Pacific, Vanderbilt, and Buffalo. Years after he continued to coach for several professional football teams, such as American Football League's New York Jets (Linebackers Coach) , followed by Minnesota Vikings (Defensive Coordinator) , Chicago Bears (Defensive Coordinator) , Philadelphia Eagles (Head Coach) , Houston Oilers (Defensive Coordinator) and Arizona Cardinals (Head Coach).
