He had his great start with the Baltimore Orioles and since then had been sweeping off several honors and awards. Some of which include the Gold Glove for 16 consistent years as well as the American League Most Valuable Player honor in 1964. He also got the Babe Ruth prize title in 1970.
Better known as the Human Vacuum Cleaner, he had given much of his time faithfully to the Orioles. With his dedication and perseverance to deliver a good performance in every game, he was well-noted by a number of prestigious awarding bodies. The Hickok Belt honor was awarded to him in 1970 declaring him as the athlete of the year. A famous manager of the Cincinnati Reds named Sparky Anderson looked up to him with so much pride because of his outstanding performances in the field of baseball.
Robinson was among those who were luckily picked to receive an award and made part in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Included in the list was Johnny Unitas, an amazing football player. Moreover, Robinson also got into the list of 100 Greatest Baseball Players category.
Brooks Robinson also got involved in the Alumni Association together with Al Kaline, Bob Boone as well as Chuck Hilton.
