Brooks Robinson is a former American professional baseball player in the Major League Baseball. Robinson hails from Little Rock, Arkansas. He was listed at 6 ft. 1 in. and 180 lbs. and played as third baseman. Robinson batted and threw right-handed, began his professional career in the Major League baseball when he signed as an amateur free agent 1955 with Baltimore Orioles, and made his debut immediately on September 17 of that same year.
Robinson never left the Orioles throughout his entire twenty three-season professional baseball career. Robinson best season in terms of offense was in 1964 when he won the American League Most Valuable Player Award. Robinson also won the All Star Game MVP Award during their match up with the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 1966 World Series. Also the impressive performance of Robinson during the 1970 World Series won him the World Series Most Valuable Player Award. Throughout Robinson’s playing career, he was chosen in fifteen uninterrupted times for the All Star Games from 1960 up to 1974. Robinson’s final season was in 1977. After retiring in 1977, Robinson became a sports commentator for the Orioles’ Television broadcasts. And in 1983 he was inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame.
