Brian Westbrook, plays for the Philadelphia Eagles of the National Football League. He was born on September 2, 1979. Westbrook is a Washington D.C. native. He was an excellent student at DeMatha Catholic School in Hyattsville in Maryland and was a letterman for football and basketball. Brian was selected as First Team selection and First Team All-Prince George County, All-State Honorable Mention selection.
At Villanova , he played from 1997-2001, wherein he recorded a 9,512 all-purpose yards and broke the previous record of Brian Shay of Emporia State University. He became the first I-AA to score more than 160 points twice in his career, and to reach a 1,000 rushing and receiving yards in one season. Dominating during his college year, NFL teams were in doubt and hesitant to draft him due to his size, injury issues, and he did not play for NCAA I-A division. Despite all of that concerns, the Philadelphia Eagles drafted him at the third round of the 2002 NFL Annual Draft.
Westbrook had only played for a limited time in 2002. In 2004 after the starter Duce Staley left and an injury to Correll Buckhalter, he became the starting running back. He rushed for a career high of 812 yards, received 73 receptions for 703 yards and scored 9 touchdowns.
