Brian Roberts is a professional baseball player who hails from Durham, North Carolina. Nicknamed as “B-Rob”, he is a second baseman for the Baltimore Orioles which drafted him to play in the major league.

 

Roberts was a star athlete at Chapel High School and had the same status in University of North Carolina. From his first year in the league up to his senior year, he was able to record impressive numbers and was named to the Collegiate Baseball team. He is included in the All-American team and was also named to the All-SEC team as recognition for his great skills in the field.

 

He started playing professionally in 1999 after he was chosen by the Baltimore Orioles in the 1999 Major League Baseball Draft. He began playing in the minor leagues including the Gulf Coast League Orioles team and the Rochester Red Wings. His big break to the major league was in 2001 and appeared in 75 games for the Baltimore Orioles during his first season with the team. He was named as the player of the month in the American League in April of 2005 and was included in the All-Star team in 2005 and 2007. As of April 2010, he has a batting average of .283 and made 77 home runs with 443 runs batted in and 258 stolen bases.
