Brian Fuentes is a current relief pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. He is a left-handed player and attended Merced Junior College. He was able to break into the world of professional baseball after he was selected by the Seattle Mariners during the 1995 Amateur Draft. He only spent one season playing for the Mariners. 

Fuentes traded to the Colorado Rockies during his second season in the MLB. Until 2005, he had an earned run average of 4.04 and only had four saves in 163 games. His breakout season was in 2005 when he became a closer. Fuentes was named into the All-Star Game of that season. In 2006, he was able to come up with a 3.44 ERA and was again selected for the season’s All-Star Game and again in 2007.

In 2008, Fuentes left the Rockies to play for the Angels. During his first season with the Angels, he was named into the 2009 All-Star.
