Brett Andrew Hull is a retired professional hockey player who hails from Belleville, Ontario. Born on August 9, 1964, his father, Bobby Hull is also a former National Hockey League player. Nicknamed as “The Golden Brett”, he appeared in the National Hockey League for several teams like Calgary Flames, Dallas Stars, Phoenix Coyotes, Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues. As a kid, he was fond of skating which was taught to him by his mother. He played junior hockey at Elmhurst Huckies and the Tuxedo Jets.
He started playing in the National Hockey League after his two-year college hockey career in University of Minnesota Duluth. He was selected by the Calgary Flames in the 1984 NHL Entry Draft as the 117th overall pick in the sixth round. As a National Hockey League player, he exhibited superb plays which earned him a Stanley Cup Championship in 1999. According to reviews, he was an instrumental player for the Dallas Stars’ first ever Stanley Cup. In his entire national league career, he scored 741 goals which is the third highest career goals in the National Hockey League history. He appeared in 1, 629 games in NHL and made 650 assists. He retired from being a professional player on October 16, 2005. Hull was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2009.
