Brendan Witt currently plays professional ice hockey in the defense man position. He is from Humboldt, Saskatchewan and was born on February 20, 1975.
Witt began his National Hockey League career with the team that selected him as the 11th overall draft pick in the 1993 NHL Draft, the Washington Capitals. There he was the leader in the league with 322 hits during the 2001 to 2002 season. In the 2004- 2005 season, he played 3 games for the Bracknell Bees of the BNL. Upon returning to the Capitals, he requested to be traded to a team with better chances at a Stanley Cup berth. This request was finally granted in 2006 when he was sent to the Nashville Predators. A few months later, Witt entered free agency and then signed with the New York Islanders. In a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Witt elbowed Niklas Hagman and was therefore suspended for 5 games. In December that year, he was hit by a truck while in Philadlphia to play against the Philadelphia Flyers. Witt was then sent to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the AHL. To date, Witt has 890 games played, 25 goals, 96 assists, 121 points and 1424 penalties.

Born in Humboldt, Saskatchewan on February 20, 1975, Witt stands 6-2 and weighs 223 lbs. He was drafted by the Washington Capitals in the 1st round (11th overall) of the 1993 NHL Entry Draft.
