Born on April 5, 1978 in Galveston, TX, Backe stands 6' 0" and weighs 182 lb. He attended Ball (Galveston, CA) high school and was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 18th round of the 1998 amateur draft. His debut was on July 19, 2002. Over his career, Backe made $3,687,500. Common misspellings of his name include Brandon Allen Brandon Backe.
