Brandan Wright is an American pro basketball athlete who is currently playing as power forward for the Golden State Warriors of the National Basketball Association. Wright was born in Nashville, Tennessee and graduated from Brentwood Academy High school located in Brentwood, Tennessee and took his college education when he attended the University of North Carolina where he also played college basketball where he appeared in thirty seven games in his lone season where he averaged a roughly fifteen points on a sixty four percent field goal shooting, with six rebounds and two blocks per game.

 

Wright began his pro basketball career after he was originally drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats during the 2007 NBA Draft being the first round pick of the team. Wright was immediately acquired by the Golden State Warriors in a draft night trade in exchange for Jason Richardson. Wright was, however, unable to play most of his rookie season in summer league play due to his injured hip.

 

Wright entered the 2008-09 seasons having a career average of four points and roughly three rebounds in every game for an average of ten minutes of play in the previous year. And on October 2009 Wright's contract was extended by the Warriors until the end of the 2010–11 season

Over 2 seasons, he played 77 games, scored 474 points (6.2 ppg) and grabbed 256 rebounds (3.3 rpg). Wright also dished out 30 assists (0.4 apg), made 28 steals (0.4 spg), and blocked 59 shots (0.8 bpg) during his career. Born in Nashville, Tennessee on October 5, 1987, Wright stands 6-9 and weighs 205 lbs. He attended high school at Brentwood Academy in Brentwood, Tennessee and college at University of North Carolina. He was drafted by the Charlotte Bobcats in the 1st round (8th pick, 8th overall) of the 2007 NBA draft.
