A multi-awarded National Hockey League player, Brad Richards was born on May 2, 1980 and hails from Canada. He attended the Andrews Hockey School in Prince Edward Island where he first harnessed his skills in the game. He went to Athol Murray College of Notre Dame where he continued to perfect his ice hockey center skills and played alongside Vincent Lecavalier in the school’s hockey team.
His professional career started when he was chosen by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the National Hockey League draft in the 1998 season. As a third round pick of the team, he played in a few minor league games before he had his shot in the Tampa Bay Lightning roster. One of his remarkable years was the 2004 season when he was given the Conn Smythe Award and the Lady Bing Trophy for his awesome performances in the rink. That year also, he had the chance to represent the Team Canada in the World Cup of Hockey Championship. He also played for the national team in the Olympics of the 2006 season.
After his remarkable stint with the Tampa Bay Lightining, he was traded to the Dallas Stars in the 2008 season. In his first game for the team, he logged five assists which is his career-best in one game.
