A former player for three National Hockey League teams, Douglas Bradford Park comes from Toronto, Ontario. He began his professional career in 1966 as a 2nd overall pick of the New York Rangers in the National Hockey League Amateur Draft that year. Before he began appearing in the national league, he spent a few seasons in the minor American Hockey League as part of the team Buffalo Bisons. His debut season in NHL was in 1968 for the New York Rangers.
A multi-awarded hockey athlete, Park also joined the Boston Bruins and his last team, the Detroit Red Wings. He was included to the All-Star first teams for five times and was also a second team member for two times. Because of his superb defenseman skills which he showcased in his NHL seasons, he was a six-time runner up for the Norris Trophy and has starred in a number of All-Star Games from 1970 through 1978.
With 896 points made in his eleven NHL seasons, he is the player who made the 13th highest scores in the history. He was also named as one of the greatest players The Hockey News’ list. Park is also named to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1988.
