 Brad Hawpe is a professional baseball player in the MLB and is currently playing for the Colorado Rockies as a right fielder. Hawpe was born in Fort Worth, Texas and attended Boswell High School. Under the guidance of David Hatcher and Kenneth Harmon, Hawpe played as a first baseman and a pitcher. He decided to enter Louisiana State University and played for the LSU Tigers baseball team. He helped the team get to the College World Series in 2000 and contributed to the win.

 

Hawpe was originally drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays during the 1998 MLB Draft but did not sign with the team. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies during the 2000 MLB Draft and he went on to sign with the team. After playing for the Rockies farm system for a number of seasons, Hawpe was called up in May 2004 and played full-time during the 2005 season. He improved significantly during the 2006 season and led the league in fielding percentage among right fielders as well as assists. In 2009, Hawpe was named into the MLB All-Star Game.

 

While playing in the minors, Hawpe was named as the MVP for the Texas League and the Carolina League.
