Borje Salming (full name: Borje Salming; no nicknames) played defenseman from 1974 until 1990 for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Detroit Red Wings. He played for the Leafs from 1974 - 1989 and Red Wings in 1990. Over 17 seasons, he played 1148 games, scored 150 goals, and made 637 assists. Born in Kiruna, Sweden on April 17, 1951, Salming stands 6-1 and weighs 193 lbs. He was inducted into Hockey Hall of Fame as Player in 1996.
