Bobby Layne (fullname: Robert Lawrence Layne; no nicknames) played from 1950 until 1962 for the Detroit Lions and Pittsburgh Steelers. He played 175 games, starting 148 of those. Born in Santa Anna, TX on December 19, 1926, Layne stands 6'1 and weighs 201 lbs. He attended college at Texas. He was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 1st round (3rd overall) of the 1948 NFL Draft. Layne was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967.
