 Bobby Hurley, born Robert Matthew Hurley, is a retired professional basketball player who hails from Jersey City, New Jersey. He became a popular basketball varsity athlete at St. Anthony High School where Bob Hurley, Sr., his father, works as a coach. He led his high school basketball team in four Parochial B championships and made an average of 20 PPG in his senior year. He ended his basketball career in the school with a 32-0 record and was given the Tournament of Champions award.

In college, he played for the Duke University and spent the 1989 to 1993 seasons in the school. In 1993, he was included to the All-American team and belonged to the Final Four three times. He also led the Blue Devils to the championships in 1992 and 1993. He is the NCAA leader in number of assists with 1, 076 and was included in the Atlantic Coast Conference fifty greatest players.

His National Basketball Association career started in 1993 as the 7th pick in the 1993 NBA Draft. He was involved in a car accident in 1993 and obtained serious injuries. He recovered and went back to play for the Kings in the 1994 to 1995 season. He also worked as a scout for the Philadelphia 76ers. It was announced on April 13, 2010 that Hurley will be the assistant coach of the Wagner College.
