Robert Marvin Hull, known as Bobby Hull, is a former professional ice hockey player who was born on January 3, 1939 in Canada. Nicknamed “Golden Jet”, he is considered as one of the greatest players in the history of professional hockey. He played junior hockey for the Galt Black Hawks and also appeared for the St. Catharines Teepees of the Ontario Hockey Association. In 1957, he entered the professional hockey scene with the Chicago Black Hawks.
As a rookie, he immediately impressed many hockey enthusiasts with his skating speed and rapid shots. He ranked second in the Rookie of the Year voting that season and led the league in goal and points scored in hid third season. He played a significant role for the Chicago Black Hawk’s win in the Stanley Cup 1961. He recorded numerous statistics lead in his entire playing career in NHL and was named to a number of All-Star teams. He was given the Art Ross trophy in 1960, 1062 and 1966 and the Hart Memorial Trophy in 1965 and 1966. He was inducted to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1983.
Hull retired in the National Hockey League with second most number of goals scored and also second in the World Hockey Association in number of goals. He is the eighth among the 100 Greatest Hockey Players by The Hockey News.
