About Bobby Howry Memorabilia & Collectibles
Bobby Dean Howry is a professional baseball player born on August 4, 1973 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was a former baseball athlete at McNeese State University and began his professional career in 1994 after being signed by the San Francisco Giants. However, Howry was one of the Giants players who were traded via the phenomenal White Flag trade to Chicago White Sox, with which he played his Major League Baseball debut game. He appeared in the league for the first time on July 14, 1998.
In 1999, he made 28 saves as the team’s closer and was then replaced by Keith Foulke in 2000. After his stint with the White Sox, he moved to play for the Boston Red Sox which he joined in 2002. Yet, he was not able to appear for the said team for 60 days in the 2004 season after being included in the disabled list. He recovered well from the injury and went back in the league in 2004 to play for the Cleveland Indians where he posted an 11-6 record after one and half year with the team.
Howry signed with the Chicago Cubs in the latter part of the 2005 season. According to statistics, Howry is one of the few pitchers who were able to appear in not lower than 70 games in a season from 2004 to 2008. He also signed with the San Francisco Giants and the Arizona Diamondbacks from 2008 to 2009 and on May 21, 2010, he signed for the Chicago Cubs again.
