Bobby Bragan (full name: Robert Randall Bragan; Nig) played shortstop, catcher and third baseman from 1940 until 1948 for the Philadelphia Phillies and Brooklyn Dodgers. He played for the Phillies from 1940 - 1942 and Dodgers from 1943 - 1948. Over 7 seasons, he played 597 games, hit 15 home runs, drove in 136 runs, and stole 12 bases. Born on October 30, 1917 in Birmingham, AL, Bragan stood 5' 10" and weighed 175 lb. He attended Phillips (Birmingham, AL) (All Transactions) high school. His debut was on April 16, 1940 and he played his final game on June 27, 1948. Over his career, Bragan made $9,000. Common misspellings of his name include Robert bob bobbie Bobby Nig Randall Bragan.
