Bob Watson, nicknamed “Bull,” is a former American professional baseball player. He was born in Los Angeles, California and graduated from Fremont High School in Los Angeles, California. Throughout his nineteen season career in the Major League Baseball, Watson played as first baseman and leftfielder for several teams; the Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees and the Atlanta Braves. Watson was listed 6 ft. and 201 lbs. He both batted and threw right handed. He began his professional baseball career after he was signed by the Houston Astros in 1965 as amateur free agent. Watson then made his debut a year after on September 9, 1966.
Watson spent most of his career with the Astros, playing for thirteen seasons from 1966 up to 1979 where he had his major career highlight being two-time All-Star selection in 1973 and 1975 seasons, until he was traded to the Boston Red Sox on June 13, 1979 only to be released later that year in November 1. Following his release, Watson signed as free agent with the New York Yankees November 8, 1979 where he played before he was dealt to the Atlanta Braves on April 23, 1982. He had his final game with the Braves on September 30, 1984.
