Bob Scheffing (full name: Robert Boden Scheffing; no nicknames) played catcher from 1941 until 1951 for the Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds and St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Cubs from 1941 - 1950, Reds from 1950 - 1951 and Cardinals in 1951. Over 8 seasons, he played 517 games, hit 20 home runs, drove in 105 runs, and stole 6 bases. Born on August 11, 1913 in Overland, MO, Scheffing stood 6' 2" and weighed 180 lb. He attended Ritenour (St. Louis, MO) high school.
