Robert Leroy Kuzava was a Pitcher for different teams like Cleveland Indians (1946-47), Chicago White Sox (1949-50), Washington Senators (1950-51), New York Yankees (1951-54), Baltimore Orioles (1954-55), Philadelphia Phillies (1955), Pittsburgh Pirates (1957) and St. Louis Cardinals (1957). A baseball field in Pulaski Park in Wyandotte is named after him.
He is closely linked to Major League Baseball players Lawrence Peter "Yogi" Berra, also a manager, played almost his entire career for the New York Yankees and was elected to the baseball Hall of Fame in 1972, and Edward Charles "Whitey" Ford, a former pitcher who spent his entire 18-year career with the same team and was also voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1974.

Bob Kuzava (full name: Robert Leroy Kuzava; Sarge) played pitcher from 1946 until 1957 for the Cleveland Indians, Chicago White Sox, Washington Senators, New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates and St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Indians from 1946 - 1947, White Sox from 1949 - 1950, Senators from 1950 - 1951, Yankees from 1951 - 1954, Orioles from 1954 - 1955, Phillies in 1955, Pirates in 1957 and Cardinals in 1957. Over 10 seasons, he started 99 games, won 49 games, struck out 446 batters, and had a 4.05 ERA. Born on May 28, 1923 in Wyandotte, MI, Kuzava stands 6' 2" and weighs 202 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 21, 1946 and he played his final game on September 29, 1957. Over his career, Kuzava made $35,500.
