Bob Froese Memorabilia & Collectibles

Bob Froese is a former professional ice hockey player. He was born on June 30, 1958 in St. Catharines, Ontario. Froese played as a goaltender and catches using his left hand. He started his professional career after he was selected by the St. Louis Blues during the 1978 NHL Draft. He played in the NHL from 1979-1990. 

Although he was drafted by the Blues, he would play for the Philadelphia Flyers during his debut game in the NHL. While playing for the Flyers, he was able to win the William M. Jennings Trophy together with Darren Jensen during the 1985-86 season. Froese was able to play for eight seasons with the Flyers and appeared in 242 games. He was able to help the Flyers win 128 games.  

In 1987, Froese was credited with a goal even when he was the goalie in the game and became the second ice hockey player to do so in NHL history. The incident happened in a game against the New York Islanders and Brent Sutter made an erroneous pass during a penalty call. Froese was the nearest player and was, hence, credited with the goal.
