Bob Chipman (full name: Robert Howard Chipman; Mr. Chips) played pitcher from 1941 until 1952 for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Chicago Cubs and Boston Braves. He played for the Dodgers from 1941 - 1944, Cubs from 1944 - 1949 and Braves from 1950 - 1952. Over 12 seasons, he started 87 games, won 51 games, struck out 322 batters, and had a 3.72 ERA. Born on October 11, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY (All Transactions), Chipman stood 6' 2" and weighed 190 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 28, 1941 and he played his final game on September 28, 1952. Common misspellings of his name include Mr. Robert Bob bobby Chips Howard robert Chipman.
