A football player of the National Football League as a quarterback as well as a halfback, Robert Richard “Bob” Chappuis was born in Toledo, Ohio. He first played for the
University of Michigan Wolverines during his college years but was cut short because he served as an aerial gunner and a radio operator in the World War II for the U.S Army Air Forces. Upon his return, he spearheaded the 1947 Michigan team in the 1948 Rose Bowl versus the
USC Trojans and was the MVP for that year.
As a professional player, he was selected by the Pittsburgh Pirates in February of 1948 but did not sign up for the team because he chose to play in the All-America Football Conference. HE chose to sign up with the Brooklyn Dodgers in June of the same year and debuted his professional career in a game versus the San Francisco 49ers. The following year, he played with the Chicago Hornets, also a member of the AAFC just like the
Brooklyn Dodgers. He retired from football in the 1950’s and engaged himself in electrical appliance business.

Born in Toledo, OH on February 24, 1923, Chappuis stands 6'0 and weighs 190 lbs. He attended college at Michigan. He was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the 5th round (26th overall) of the 1947 NFL Draft.
