About Bob Chakales Memorabilia & Collectibles

Robert Edwards Chakales, better known as Bob Chakales hails from Asheville, North Carolina and was born on August 10, 1927. He is well-recognized for being a great pitcher in the Major League Baseball and had been with a great deal of teams in the league. During his career period, he was able to set a record of 15-25 win-loss standing, 187 strikeouts as well as a 4.54 earned run average.

Though he had been into various roles on field, Bob Chakales really began his career as a starter. He had his debut in the MLB playing under the Cleveland Indians in the year 1951. He spent almost four years of his career with the said team and later moved in to Baltimore Orioles in 1954. He had been seen greatly influential and effective during his 1954 season. He had set some marks in the league with his exceptional performances as well as playing techniques. Moreover, he had also grabbed some awards including rookie of the year. After his Orioles stint, he was transferred to another team alongside with other incredible players like Clint Courtney, Milt Bolling, Don Ferrarese as well as Faye Throneberry.

In 1955, Bob Chakales hopped to the Washington Senators and stayed for almost three years. He had been tagged as the Golden Greek in the baseball league for having been an amazing addition to the world of baseball. His last appearance in the MLB was spent with another group namely the Boston Red Sox.
