Major League Baseball’s left-handed pitcher, Robert Max Cain was born in the city of Longford, Kansas. Before the 1943 season, he was a free agent of the New York Giants. Somewhere on May 1949, Bob Cain was swapped to the Chicago White Sox in an indefinite transaction. Two years after he was traded for
Saul Rogovin to the Detroit Tigers. Together with
Dick Kryhoski and Gene Bearden, he was sent to the St. Louis Browns on the 14th of February 1952. Bob Cain has also played for the Philadelphia Athletics in exchanged for
Frank Fanovich and Joe Coleman and was released a year after. He was last seen on the baseball field on the 11th of September 1954 playing for the Chicago White Sox.
Bob Cain has posted a win-loss record of 37-44, earned run average of 4. 50 and a recorded 249 strikeouts. After his baseball career, he worked for Kraft Foods as a salesman. He died on the 8th of April 1997 because of cancer at the age of 72.

He played for the White Sox from 1949 - 1954, Tigers in 1951 and Browns from 1952 - 1953. Over 5 seasons, he started 89 games, won 37 games, struck out 249 batters, and had a 4.50 ERA. Born on October 16, 1924 in Longford, KS, Cain stood 6' 0" and weighed 165 lb. He attended high school. His debut was on September 18, 1949 and he played his final game on September 11, 1954. Common misspellings of his name include Robert Bob bobby Max robert Sugar Cain.
