Bob Boyd (full name: Robert Richard Boyd; Rope) played first baseman and leftfielder from 1951 until 1961 for the Chicago White Sox, Baltimore Orioles, Milwaukee Braves and Kansas City Athletics. He played for the White Sox from 1951 - 1954, Orioles from 1956 - 1960, Braves in 1961 and Athletics in 1961. Over 9 seasons, he played 693 games, hit 19 home runs, drove in 253 runs, and stole 9 bases. Born on October 1, 1919 in Potts Camp, MS, Boyd stood 5' 10" and weighed 170 lb. He attended New Albany (New Albany, MS) high school. His debut was on September 8, 1951 and he played his final game on September 24, 1961.
