Bob Boone was born in San Diego, California on November 19, 1947. He was established as one of the most promising players in the history of baseball. He was also named among the outstanding defensive catchers of all time. He attended Crawford (San Diego, CA) high school and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 6th round of the 1969 amateur draft.
