Bo Jackson is an American professional athlete who has played both in baseball and football and was named All-Star in both sports. This player at the same time an actor was born on November 30, 1962 in Bessemer, Alabama. He was named Vincent Edward “Bo” Jackson after his mother’s favorite actor Vince Edwards. He is often described by his family as a “wild boar” and was shortened to “Bo.”
He studied in McAdory High School and became a very impressive athlete there. He showcased his skills and talent in many aspects. He ran 100 meters in just 10.39 seconds. He was indeed a very good running back and an excellent linebacker. Jackson rushed 1,173 yards in his final season in high school. When he was in college, he was drafted by the New York Yankees in the second round but he decided to attend Auburn University on a football scholarship. Jackson was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers but then he chose to play baseball for the Kansas City Royals. In 1989 he performed better than in his college years and was selected for the American League All-Star team and he was named the game’s MVP for his offense and defense plays. It was in 1987 when he decided to play football and he joined the NFL’s Los Angeles Raiders. He rushed for 554 yards on 81 carries in just seven games.
