Blake Wheeler is an American professional ice hockey player and is currently lined up in the Boston Bruins’ rosters. He was born in Robbinsdale, Minnesota. Wheeler attended Wayzata Senior High School for his freshman year before transferring afterward to Breck School. During his junior year at Breck, Wheeler had his breakout season, putting up a state-high forty five goals and fifty five assists in 2003–04 seasons. He led his team to State Hockey Championship that season, and scored a hat trick in the final game.
Wheeler took his college education when hr attended the University of Minnesota, where in 2005 during his freshman year with the Minnesota Golden Gophers, he recorded twenty three points in thirty nine games, playing alongside with his would be Bruins teammate, Phil Kessel.
Wheeler started his pro hockey career after he was drafted as a first round pick by the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League during the 2004 NHL Entry Draft. On October 9, in his NHL debut, Wheeler scored his first goal, against goaltender Peter Budaj of the Colorado Avalanche. After that, Wheeler collected his first hat trick on November 6, in their match against the Toronto Maple Leafs. Wheeler was named MVP after winning the match against the sophomores 9–5, in the 2009 NHL YoungStars Game.
