Birdie Tebbetts (full name: George Robert Tebbetts; no nicknames) played catcher from 1936 until 1952 for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians. He played for the Tigers from 1936 - 1947, Red Sox from 1947 - 1950 and Indians from 1951 - 1952. Over 14 seasons, he played 1162 games, hit 38 home runs, drove in 357 runs, and stole 29 bases. Born on November 10, 1912 in Burlington, VT, Tebbetts stood 5' 11" and weighed 170 lb. He attended Nashua (Nashua, NH) high school.
