Billy Smith has played with the Los Angeles Kings and also with the New York Islanders. Born in Perth, Ontario in December 12, 1950, Smith is well known for winning Stanley Cups.
When Smith had played with the
Kings, he successfully won the Calder Cup for Springfield in the year 1971. The
New York Islanders then drafted him during the NHL Expansion Draft in 1972. During the 1974 season, he was able to lead the Islanders to the very fist playoff appearance. It was in 1982 when Smith had successfully won the Vezina Trophy and also the William M. Jennings Trophy in 1983. He had incredibly helped his team in winning four successive Stanley Cups, reaching the finals five times, and winning a record 19 successive playoff series.
